Sincere has been telling time on a digital clock for awhile now. After he learned how to count by 5's he picked up telling time on an analog clock. Around the time he turned 3 he picked up telling time by the minute on an analog clock. The book he learned on was a library book so we ended up having it this week and I decided to get it on video. He LOVES the little book on top so we will probably have to check it out again sometime in the future.
It always amazes how he can focus on more then one thing at a time. He can be totally wrapped in Ramone but also hear you asking a question and follow the instructions. I love when he thought I said 3:19 and he says "19 after" and after I correct him he says "OH! 3:15." This boy cracks me up. Enjoy.

Sincere's First Basketball Practice
Well its been about a month since I posted anything. Since then I got a new camera, figured out how to use it, redid the whole house and Sincere has gotten even more intense. But I am back now that I feel comfortable with my new equipment and things have gotten a little less crazy.
They have a 3 year old preschool basketball program that is the cutest thing ever. Sincere told me he wanted to go and assured me that he would enjoy it. He said "It will make me big and strong. I want to play basketball." I prepared him all day for it and he was ready to go. Then we get there and what I feared would happen, happened.
While the rest of the kids were lined up quietly (about 12 of them) and their smiling parents sat on the bench taking pictures the hurricane swept into the gym. Sincere started off by ripping his name tag off and throwing it on the ground screaming "I just don't want to do basketball." I asked him to try. He said "I just can't. I can't do it." I sat there and talked to him about how its fine if he can't do something but he has to at least try. He was having no part of it. I did a couple of drills with him crying as we went along and when I went to sit on the bench he was screaming right behind me.
Meanwhile the other moms beady little eyes zeroed in on me. Of course the moms all had suggestions on what would get him out there playing. Like they could get him out there when I couldn't. Please. Sincere looked at each of them and told them "I don't want to play basketball. I want to sit on the bench and watch." I tried about 3 more times to get him on the court. And endured "I know how it is. My son gets like that too." Really? Because Sincere is never not like this so its not the same. And "Maybe his dad can bring him and he would do better." Which I replied "This is how he acts for everyone." And "Maybe he is tired" "Maybe he will do better next week." Maybe you guys can stick socks in your pie holes.
Seeing Sincere in a group of kids his age you can tell something is different. While the other kids dribbled the ball from one end of the court to the other (really well I might add) Sincere was in his own world. He sat there reading every word he saw and counted the lines on the basketball. While the other kids sat on their balls listening to directions about the next drill. Sincere pretended the lines on his ball were a race track and his finger was a car. Making up songs about action at the race. He even wrote his own doctors excuses for getting out of gym class. At one point in the video I captured one of his excuses that he was sick and needed a lollipop. Nice try.
After his fifth meltdown I decided to leave. Before I did I told the mom next to me "Well maybe he can be the mascot for the team."

Reading a Winter Poem
Sincere is a fan of the snow. This is not good for mommy because all though she enjoys looking at it on Christmas morning from the comfort of her own home she does not like to play in it. A beach with warm sand? Yes please. A sidewalk with cold snow? Not so much.
It snowed at the end of last week and the beginning of this week. I got Sincere a book about winter and snow from the library. It is a book of poems and its good because they are like short stories so he doesn't have to stay focused for long but he still gets a funny story. You can tell even at the end of this short poem his attention starts to drift. Its always a challenge with him to keep him focused but I am learning tricks (spelling, reminding him of his promised treats, signal the end of an activity is near, LOL). And sorry for having to remain still the whole time. If I moved the camera shut off. I am hoping to get new a piece of equipment soon. So I am trying to hold out till then. :)

Messy Boy
It's been so busy over here that I haven't even had a chance to look for a new camera. So I am stuck with a camera that turns off on its on and cramped fingers from holding down the record button as I record. But I managed to get a video of a wild messy Sincere a couple nights ago. And yes picking up all that mess is as hard as you imagine it is.
I don't know why he came up with the idea about the kitty dying from Santa's presents. Hopefully he doesn't develop a fear of Santa presents. LOL!

Doing Early Multiplication
Sincere has being doing basic math and addition for a while now. The other day I decided to throw some multiplication into the mix. He seemed to grasp the concept fairly easy although I had problems trying to tell him what multiplication's purpose was. I ended up telling him it was fast addition. Lately I have been running into the problem of not knowing how to teach him certain things because I don't know how to explain them. Like how to explain to a phonetic reader how to read words that don't follow the rules. Or how "e" at the end of the word changes can change the vowel sound. Or how to explain to a kid learning the Spanish alphabet not to use that alphabet in English words.
Once I showed him how to work the problem out he seemed to really get it. I didn't know if I was supposed to teach him the times tables first or how to work it out. So since he has a good memory I decided to show him how to work it out and figured he would memorize the tables as he works through them. Lately he has also been counting in his head a lot which has surprised me.
The camera is barely working right now. Right in time for the holidays. We went to Best Buy to price a new one but I need to look up reviews before I buy one. I need one that can take a lot of dropping. :) So this video is in bits of pieces. Everytime I tried to film the camera would turn off and he would stop. So just pieced this together. The last clip was taken after I found him trying to take a bite out of a marker.

He is Now 3!!!!
My baby is now 3!!! I can't even believe it. Where did all the time go? I half way expect to see him wake up with a mustache.
We celebrated his birthday on Sunday Nov 8th with a "Birthday Get Together" at the roller skating ring. His friends Aris, Anthony and Bralin came out to celebrate with him. As well as their parents and his Grandma Judy came. He had a good time and he skated a little. He was happy at first but after a few falls and realizing there was presents to open he wanted his skates off. But it was cute to watch him in his skates while it lasted.

Trick or Treating
I know this video is super late but I have been super busy lately. I figure better late then never. In the clip you can get a glimpse at how much fun he was having trick or treating. Most of the time that night I couldn''t tape him because he ws going so fast. He really enjoyed Halloween this year. :)
